The ward is best known for high-altitude grape growing just below the Jonkershoek Nature Reserve – an area for incredible hiking and views all the way to Cape Town. The predominant soils are clay, loam, and gravel, offering perfect terroir for Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Chardonnay. These distinct soil compositions, combined with cooling mountain breezes, contribute to the production of elegant and vibrant wines.
